Japanese symbol

Japanese use four types of writing -kanji characters, hiragana and katakana phonetic scripts, and the Roman alphabet.
Kanji, which were brought to Japan from China, are ideographical representations of objects and ideas. They are used in conjunction with hiragana and katakana.
Hiragana are phonetic characters created at the beginning of the Heian period.
Katakana are characters adapted from kanji used mainly for foreign words
